The M4 Assault Rifle is arguably considered the best weapon in the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 beta. Not only is the M4 Assault Rifle powerful, but it also performs well in almost any situation, whether you're up against the ISO Nightshade in close quarters or long range against a Sniper or Marksman Rifle.

So you're probably wondering which attachments are the very best for this particular gun? Well, I've put over 20 hours into the MW4 beta and have compiled the best run-and-gun M4 loadout that will have you destroying your opponents.

Best M4 Build in MW4

If you'd prefer a gun that's a bit more balanced and can perform well in every situation, look no further than the M4 Assault Rifle. This particular build favors those with an aggressive run-and-gun playstyle.

For this build, I've focused on improving its Range, Mobility, and Handling, which gives the M4 an edge against long-range opponents while still remaining quick enough to challenge even the best players running the ISO Nightshade in close quarters.

Why

Ammunition

9MM Parabellum Frangible

While the 9MM Parabellum Frangible's Hindering Rounds have a slight damage reduction, they will temporarily suppress enemy mobility on hit.

This effect is relatively overlooked, and since MW4 has such fast time-to-kill, any slight factors that can negatively impact your enemy can often be the deciding factor in an otherwise even fight.

Also keep in mind that Hindering Rounds are especially helpful since weapon bloom is no longer a thing in MW4. This means bullets have a far less random spread.

Grip

FSS Fireline Grip

To help give the M4 a small boost in Recoil Control, I've opted for the FSS Fireline Grip, which offers a notable increase to Accuracy thanks to boosts in ADS Recoil Control and ADS Gun Kick.

This comes at the cost of some ADS Speed and Sprint to Fire Speed, but we'll make this up with our Stock attachment.

Laser

SZ Gen.6 PEQ

The faster you can ADS and get off shots, the more success you're going to have in MW4. That's why I've opted for the SZ Gen.6 PEQ.

This laser is unlocked early and provides a significant Handling boost, improving our Sprint to Fire Speed and ADS Speed.

Alternatively, if you'd prefer to avoid having a visible laser in ADS, you can always opt for the SA LAZ-500. It's not as good, but it has the advantage of no cons.

If you are a rather aggressive run-and-gun player like myself, I wouldn't stress over the visible red laser; the time you spend in ADS will be very minimal. Plus, nearly everyone is running a red laser anyway.

Muzzle

FSS IS300

Despite a slight hit to Mobility and Handling, the FSS IS300 Muzzle provides a significant boost to Damage Range, as well as improvements to Accuracy.

The FSS IS300 also features Sound Suppression, which makes a notable difference in run-and-gun builds as it helps keep you concealed.

While our ADS Speed and Movement Speed do take a small hit, the impact isn't too noticeable since our Laser and Stock attachments counteract the loss, keeping the stats high.

Stock

No Stock

(Demo Dozer Stock Until No Stock is Unlocked)

Capping off the build, I've chosen to run No Stock. This gives a significant boost to Mobility and Handling, making the weapon feel even more nimble.

The notable downside to this is the sharp loss of Accuracy. Normally, I'd avoid such a loss, but I've genuinely found the M4 not that difficult to handle, even when taking long-range shots.

For context, I'm normally the first to pick up on a poorly handling weapon. I say give it a try, and if it doesn't feel great, consider sticking with the Demo Dozer Stock - this particular stock served me well as I leveled up the M4.

This M4 build has me getting at least 30-35+ kills nearly every game. One particular match saw me racking up 62 kills.

Best M4 Loadout

For the rest of your build, I highly recommend running a Flash Grenade and Semtex, as these are both incredibly powerful in the MW4 beta thanks to the smaller maps. If you're playing objective game modes like Domination, you can expect to rack up quite a few grenade kills each game.

Since I'm a more aggressive run-and-gun player, I'm running Ninja to reduce my footsteps, Fast Hands to help reload quicker, and Blood Rush for increased Tactical Sprint.

Killstreaks are more of a personal preference, but I've opted for the Bomb Glider, which I've found surprisingly fun to use, the Artillery Beacon, and the Wheelson.
