DMZ is a game mode featured in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. It serves as an evolved version of the DMZ mode from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, featuring Player vs Player vs Environment gameplay. The mode is described as an "extraction mode" and "sandbox experience", taking place after the events of the game's single player campaign.

Exclusion Zones[]
DMZ takes place at the exclusion zone Hajin, located at the North and South Korean Peninsula bordering Russia.
Exfil[]
Main article: Exfil
Players are able to safely extract their Operators and their inventories from the play area by interacting with an Exfil site. There are multiple ways a player can exfil, such as with skyhooks and helicopter extraction.
Bosses[]
Among the various Agents that can be encountered in the different Exclusion Zones, several of them appear as unique and more powerful enemies called Bosses or Lieutenants. Some of them can drop dog tags which will assist in the bounty board.
Within Hajin several Lieutenants can be encountered such as Gorani and the Juggernaut.
